Entrepreneur Day – Marking the 25th anniversary of the Croatian Employers’ Association

Based on the invitation of the CEA, respecting the fact that the Agricultural Equipment Cluster as well as the other four cluster initiatives were generated within the CEA National Cluster Center, this year, hundreds of entrepreneurs and employers were gathered at the Entrepreneurs Day, which central theme was investments and new opportunities for Croatia opening up opportunities to accelerate growth. Among hundreds of guests the Enterpreneur Day was visited by President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic and Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Tolusic, Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Darko Horvat and representatives of other authorities, trade unions, diplomatic corps and academic community.

CEA President Gordan Deranja expressed in her introductory speech that Croatia has missed many opportunities in the past two decades and has lost the advantage it once had in relation to most other transition countries. As a result Croatia is seriously lagging behind, and it is now one of the most economically weak EU members.

The interested entrepreneurs were addressed by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar – Kitarovic, who in her speech mostly criticized the work of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the unsuccessful or partially initiated reforms. Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic praised the projects implemented by his government and suggested its future guidelines.

In the discussion on the possibility of increasing investments participated Darko Horvat, Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Michael Furjan, CEO of Pliva, Mate Rimac, CEO of Rimac car, Hrvoje Patajac, Controlling Director of Adris Group and Paul Merdzo, CEO of Supernova Group.
