Visit of Japanese economic delegation by representatives of leading Japanese companies

The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, the Japan Embassy in Croatia and the JETRO Regional Office (Japanese Foreign Trade Organization) based in Vienna, in cooperation with the Investment and Competitiveness Agency, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Foreign Investors in Croatia, organized a working visit of representatives of the leading Japanese companies in Croatia from 4th to 6th June 2018. The purpose of this visit was to explore the business opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

In the introductory part of the visit, the delegation of representatives of Japanese companies was addressed by the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Darko Horvat and the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Croatia, E. Keiji Takiguchi.

The Companies represented were: Mizuho Bank Europe N.V. Vienna Branch, Mizuho Bank, Ltd., Mitsubishi Corporation Belgrade Liaison Office, ITOCHU Corporation Hungary Ltd., ITOCHU Corporation Belgrade Representative Office, ITOCHU Corporation Belgrade Representative Office, Mitsui & Co.Deutschland GmbH Hungarian Representative Office, KPMG Ceska Republika, sro, Hino Motors Europe NV, Yokogawa Europe, Kajima Europe Limited, Japan Tobacco International SA, DAIKIN EUROPE NV, Daikin Central Europe and SUMITOMO ELECTRIC Hartmetall GmbH.

At the meeting in the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, the potential for investments in Croatian Counties was presented.
The potentials for investments in particular to Osijek-Baranja County was presented by the Director of Agricultural Equipment Cluster in PP presentation titled “The investment opportunities and cooperation with the Agricultural Equipment Cluster”. The representatives of the Japanese economic delegation were also introduced by the fact that a member of Agricultural Equipment Cluste, EUROMETAL from Osijek has already developed the long-term production cooperation with Japanese company Honda concerning the production of motocultivators intended for the European market, noting that the quality, price and delivery deadlines can meet the high criteria required by Japanese companies.
